The speech teacher at a pre-trial deposition admitted she did nothing to stop this and instead praised the male student for “demonstrating how to be a responsible adult.” Mr. Nomberg’s at the deposition was able to get the speech teacher to admit she did not doubt the male student had repeatedly molested the young girl and that she did nothing to prevent it from occurring.

Brett Nomberg picked a jury in Sullivan County and the following morning the school’s insurance company now realized they should settle and agreed to pay $1.1 million. This was one of the highest awards in this courthouse for this type of sexual assault against a child. Mr. Nomberg’s persistence, skill, and compassion for his client helped secure a fair award for the mental trauma this young child had suffered.
